The Great Kitchen Renovation of 2004
NO PROGRESS

We have definitely lost our momentum.  We are stuck at about 85% completion.  Going out of the country for two weeks really stalled things.  We'd like to blame the hurricane, but it's not a valid excuse.  Pretty much, ever since the counter tops were installed we have gone nowhere.  We are at that delicate stage where everyone has to fix their mistakes and/or the damage they have done to other peoples' work.  One guy is waiting for the other guy to do this and that guy is waiting for someone else and that guy won't return our calls.  We are slowly starting to make progress again, but it's been a month since any forward progress has been made in the kitchen (hence no pictures).

We are also at the point where we need to initiate other things:  we need to get someone to do the stainless backsplash (apparently harder than it sounds), and it is clear that we need some new appliances.  The white ones around which we designed the kitchen look dingy and dinky in comparison.  I guess success breeds additional expense.

It's not the end of the world - our sink works, we have a gas stove and we have one working socket  (although it's in the dining room and a green extension cord is our only connection), so we can eat in our house when so motivated.
