It's been two weeks now. The demolition is mostly done, the sub-flooring has been completed (not without a couple of plumbing-related mishaps) and the floors are in. The floors have to settle for a couple of weeks before they are stained and sealed. Sasha likes the raw floors a great deal because she no longer slips and slides. However, she liked the cool tiles even better. The Caribbean Pine is a beautiful natural color, but we are going to stain it very dark brown. Next step is tearing out the back wall and replacing it with tall doors and windows and replacing the "trailer park window" with three aluminum clad square windows. At about the same time, we also need to get the electrician and plumber in to remove the old lines and rough-in new ones. |
