The Great Kitchen Renovation of 2004
DEMOLITION

May 20, 2004 - The demolition begins.  The cabinets are removed as well as the pass-through bar and fir-down.  Next, the floor tiles are removed to expose a lovely linoleum floor, circa 1950.  Eventually, the refrigerator and appliances are clustered in the dining room and our life with Chinet and plastic cups begins.  Habitat for Humanity came by soon afterwards to pick up the cabinets and the sink.  We're still considering replacing the appliances, so they stick around.  Right now, we are planning to keep them.  However, Tamara has convinced me that we should replace the GE Spacesaver microwave/range hood with an adult range hood.  Sasha is somewhat confused by the activity and the people, but she adapts relatively quickly for a 15 year old dog.  She is going to miss the cool (feeling, not looking) tile.
