- The Great Kitchen Renovation of 2004

As I reflect on the kitchen in it's natural state, I wonder why we are embarking on this renovation. Then I notice the pink tile floor and the pink tile countertop, the wall without cabinets and the ugly as sin pass-through bar, the mismatched cabinets and the lack of storage and remember. The kitchen we have planned will be quite a departure from the one we are replacing, and we are both very excited. Of course, doing this kind of renovation opens up all kinds of other needed renovations (redo the back yard*, redo the side yard, paint the house, landscape the front yard, redo both bathrooms, redo the middle bedroom, etc.). But one step at a time.
